Quick summary
The MMT Release Tracker is a £30 digital spreadsheet for one release, one currency, and one statement period. It helps you track income, costs, recoupment, and what may be payable. It is not accounting software, legal advice, tax advice, or a certified royalty statement. Because it is delivered digitally, refunds are limited once access is provided, except where required by law. This summary is for convenience only; the full terms below apply.

These terms apply to your purchase and use of the MMT Release Tracker (the "Tool"), a spreadsheet product sold through Stripe. By buying, downloading, or using the Tool, you agree to these terms. Please read them before you purchase.

1. What you are buying

The Tool is a downloadable spreadsheet that helps you work out, for one music release over one statement period, how much has been recouped and what is payable to an artist. It is a self-contained file. Once you receive access, you have everything the product includes.

The Tool handles one release, one currency, and one statement period at a time. To follow a release across periods you carry the closing balances forward manually (this is explained in the instructions inside the file). It is a project finance tracker, not certified accounting software, and it does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. See the Disclaimer in section 6.

Important product limits: what the Tool does not do
✗One release per file
✗One currency per file
✗One statement period at a time
✗No automatic carry-forward
✗No song-by-song royalty accounting
✗No whole-roster tracking
✗No live currency or FX rates
✗No automatic distributor CSV import
✗No "off the top" collaborator payments before recoupment

These are deliberate design choices for a simple, low-cost tool. The separate MMT app offers additional features, which are not included here.

2. Your licence to use the Tool

When you buy the Tool, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it.

You can
  • ✓Use it in your own business, as an independent artist, manager, or label, including to prepare statements for the artists, releases, and partners you work with
  • ✓Make working copies for your own use, for example one copy per release or per statement period
  • ✓Share the finished statements you produce with your own artists and partners
  • ✓Give temporary access to your own professional advisers, such as an accountant, to help prepare your statements
You cannot
  • ✗Resell, redistribute, share, sublicense, or give away the editable Tool file, or any copy, outside your business
  • ✗Make the file accessible to others through shared drives, cloud storage, or networks, unless each user holds their own licence
  • ✗Publish the Tool, upload it publicly, or include it in another product or service
  • ✗Reverse engineer or extract the calculation logic, except where the law allows
  • ✗Remove our branding, or claim the Tool as your own work

Sharing the finished statements you produce is fine: that is what the Tool is for. What you may not share is the editable Tool file itself. You may not assign or transfer this licence to anyone else without our prior written consent.

3. Price and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). Where a price is also displayed in another currency, that figure is for convenience only; the GBP price is the amount charged, and your bank or card provider sets the actual conversion and any fees.

By purchasing, you confirm that your billing details are accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method. Payments are handled by our secure payment provider, Stripe; we do not store your card details. We may change prices or offers at any time, but a change will not affect a purchase you have already completed.

4. Access and delivery

The Tool is delivered digitally. You receive access immediately or shortly after your payment is confirmed, by download or link. It is your responsibility to download and keep your own copy of the file.

Before you receive immediate access, you will be asked to confirm, by ticking a box at checkout, that you want the Tool supplied straight away and that you understand you will lose your 14-day cancellation right once access is provided, except where the Tool is faulty, not as described, or cannot be accessed. Completing your purchase with that box ticked confirms your consent.

5. Refunds and cancellation

The Tool is a digital product delivered immediately, giving you full access to everything the product includes as soon as you buy it.

Change of mind
Once access has been provided, we do not offer refunds for a change of mind, except where required by law.
Faulty or inaccessible
Contact us first and we will provide access, a working file, or a corrected version. If we cannot, we provide a refund or price reduction.
Your statutory rights
Nothing here removes rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your statutory cancellation right. Consumers in the UK normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. For digital content supplied immediately, you can ask us to begin supply at once, and by doing so you agree to waive that 14-day cancellation right. By confirming at checkout and accessing the Tool, you give that consent and accept that you cannot then cancel for a change of mind.

If something is wrong with the product. Your legal rights are not affected by the above. If the Tool is faulty, not as described, or you cannot access the file, contact us first at support@musicmoneytracker.com. We will work with you to resolve it by providing access, a working file, or a corrected version. Only if we cannot make the Tool work as described will we provide a refund or price reduction, in line with your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. "As described" means as set out in the product listing and the documentation provided at the time of purchase.

In short: we fix genuine problems with the file; we do not refund a change of mind once you have access.

6. Disclaimer, please read

The Tool and any accompanying guides are provided for general information only, on the basis that you have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. The Tool performs calculations from the figures and settings you enter; it is not a certified royalty system and does not provide legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.

  • All figures the Tool produces are provisional and depend entirely on your own agreements and the numbers you enter. Always double-check your inputs and the results.
  • Any sample figures, worked examples, or scenarios are illustrative only and may not reflect your situation, your deal, or your location.
  • Before you rely on or send any statement to an artist or partner, you should independently verify the figures and, for anything important or disputed, have them reviewed by a qualified accountant or lawyer.
  • Royalty deals and contracts vary by country and by agreement. We make no warranty that the Tool's logic matches your particular contract, and we recommend you seek professional advice to confirm it fits your use.

We make no guarantee of any particular result, income, or outcome from using the Tool. Beyond the rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, there are no warranties that the Tool is fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of revenue, profit, business, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Tool. Your use of the Tool is at your own risk, and you are responsible for the business and financial decisions you make using it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for breach of data protection law, or for your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the Tool will not exceed the amount you paid for it.

8. Chargebacks and disputes

If you have a problem with your purchase, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If a chargeback or payment dispute is raised, we may suspend access while the dispute is investigated: this may include removing download links or updates, but does not affect any copy of the Tool you have already downloaded and saved. This does not affect your statutory rights or any refund you are legally entitled to.

9. Your data and privacy

To sell and support the Tool, we collect limited personal data: typically your name, email address, and the billing information needed to process payment (handled by our payment provider, Stripe). We use it to fulfil your order, provide support, and meet our legal obligations, and we keep it only as long as needed for those purposes. We are the data controller, and we handle your data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have rights over your data, including access, correction, and erasure. Our full Privacy Policy explains what we collect, our lawful basis, the service providers we use, how long we keep data, and how to exercise your rights. You can read it at our Privacy Policy , or contact us at support@musicmoneytracker.com for any data or privacy request.

10. Availability, changes, and updates

We aim to provide reliable access to the Tool and any related materials, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, improve, replace, or discontinue the Tool or any feature at any time. Updates are at our discretion and are not guaranteed; we may offer significant new versions as a separate purchase unless we state otherwise at the point of sale.

11. General

Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you also keep the benefit of mandatory protections under the law of the part of the UK where you live.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you buy.
